FLORIST INTERNSHIP

Full-time position, min three months

 

We are looking for creative and curious individuals,
who have the appetite for floristry and the hardwork that comes with it.

Be trained and tasked with:

• Conditioning and maintaining fresh flowers, cleaning buckets and vases
• Understanding and executing preparations needed for various arrangements and décor
• Hands-on material manipulation such as spray painting, weaving, bundling etc
• Assisting set ups and tear downs for events and weddings
• Delivery or supply runs for flowers, groceries, and accompanying gifts
• Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment
• Any other ad-hoc duties related to the running of the florist

REQUIREMENTS:

• No floristry experience needed
• Physically fit–stand for long periods, lift heavy flowers and goods, climb ladder, dispose of trash etc.
• Able to multi-task, work independently, take initiative, willing to get hands dirty
• Positive, reliable, punctual
• Creative and thinks out of the box
• Flexible and able to work occasional OT on weekday nights/ weekend/ PH when required
• Commitment to work OT during festive periods including but not limited to CNY, Valentine’s, Mother’s Day, Christmas

FLORIST APPRENTICESHIP

Full-time position, Two-year contract

 

We are looking for a passionate and hardworking individual
to grow a career in floristry alongside our team.

This role of florist apprentice is for someone who can commit on a long-term basis
to learn the ins and outs of running a florist and floral design.

Be trained in and tasked with:

• Conditioning and maintaining fresh flowers, cleaning buckets and vases
• Understanding and executing preparations needed for various arrangements and décor
• Cutting and arranging fresh flowers and foliage for simple designs, minimizing wastage
• Hands-on material manipulation such as spray painting, weaving, bundling etc.
• Documentation of work such as taking photos and videos for social media and portfolio
• Assisting set ups and tear downs for events and weddings
• Delivery or supply runs for flowers, groceries, and accompanying gifts
• Maintaining inventory of florist supplies for smooth work flow
• Processing orders from the website, scheduling, and preparing for delivery
• Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment
• Any other ad-hoc duties related to the running of the florist

With on-the-job assessment and as you develop with us, you will also progressively learn how to:

• Create increasingly complex floral arrangements with various techniques such as hand-tie, vase, foam, wiring, with gifts etc.
• Create preserved and artificial floral arrangements
• Adhere to our house style, adapt to client briefs
• Prepare proposals and presentations for clients
• Conduct customer engagements and workshops
• Independently run flower bars
• Create larger-scale floral arrangements such as arch and hanging arrangements for events and weddings
• Plan, cost, and price for floral arrangements

Following your successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be offered a full-time position in Floral Magic.
